Homecoming

No matter how far or how long one has been away from home, comes a time when the heart yearns for home.

Home is a place of rest. When the spirit has struggled to the farthest limit, or the mind has been bridled by demand or the body been in round the clock readiness, a quiet weariness can set in masked by visage of courage. One simply longs for home.

Home is a place to be. It is a safe place. It includes the presence of one who loves and a true friend.

Home is a source of energy, like an eddy of power that flows naturally, renewing life at its roots, preparing one for a greater challenge.

You can help someone come home by creating “future memories” in your heart and mind; seeing in your mind and feeling in your heart your friend or loved one coming to you and staying with you in 3D (not like a 2 dimensional movie), and you living life as if the person is just around. For someone who believes in the communion of the saints practicing this should be second nature. Your spirit connects with your loved one in a more powerful way and enables him to receive the energy from home and to live from the energy of home even before he manifests his presence before you. Together your spirit and mind connects with the rest of the world and finds kindred minds/spirits that assist, and before long he shows up before you in flesh and blood.

Jesus anticipated the need for his brethren and friends to come home to the place of their beginning. He intimated to them future memories of coming home. “But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee” (Matthew 26:32, RSV). Galilee is where Jesus finds them and loves them as they are.

After the resurrection Jesus gave the women the instruction, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee., and there they will see me” (Matthew 28:10, RSV). There he gave them “future memories” of coming home to the Kingdom of God.

Being at home with the Kingdom of God now, creating “future memories” of God’s loving reign and one’s loving obedience, is praying “thy kingdom come” and having it answered.
